Graphic of Book Cover
A delightful book with which to while away a half hour when you have nothing better to do. With 107 chapters (none longer than two pages) this "anecdotal tour through the history and lore of astronomy" is an excellent fun time book, with no pretensions of being a textbook. The reading level is middle school age, the pictures are mostly black and white photos (although there are eight pages of color photos in the middle of the book), and the stories are written in a contemporary style. This book will tell of the recipes Copernicus wrote in the margins of his texts to how to greet an alien should one appear. A thoroughly entertaining text.
