Sunlight is not the only thing emanating from our nearest star. Although scientists wondered about our Sun, until we had satellites, cell phones, power stations, etc., the dynamics of the sun were of no concern to the average layman. All we wanted to know from our scientists was: "Is it going to be a sunny day?" Now it's important to us to know what space storms are headed our way and how they will impact our technology. This book tells a little about how those questions are answered. In layman's terms, it describes the processes within the Sun and how those processes affect the space around our planet; and it does so without the complicated mathematical formulas found in most science texts written for scientists. We recommend this book to middle school and older students, parents and teachers.
