This page will allow you to display the Key Parameter plots created for the WIND MFI team.
In addition you may download the daily CDF files or use them to generate ASCII data files.

Choose from the different parameters provided below to customize the plot.

Select the desired time resolution.

MFI Time Resolution: 3 second 1 minute 1 hour
These resolution choices apply if MFI parameters are plotted only.
    (the first 6 parameters).
If plasma parameters are plotted then MFI data is averaged to match the 92 second resolution of the Solar Wind Experiment (SWE) instrument.

Enter in the time interval over which you wish to view the instrument data.
The WIND MFI data set begins on 1994 November 16.
Hours, minutes, and seconds start at 0.

Select an activity:

Download CDFs :  press "Download CDF's" to retrieve file list.
(Generates a entire days worth of MFI data)
List Data (ASCII):  select variables from list below and press "Generate ASCII".
Plot Data:  select variables from list below and press "Generate Plot".

Select a coordinate system:

Coordinate System:

Choose the parameters to plot (if applicable):

B(nT) - B magnitude of the Magnetic Field
Bx(nT) - Bx component of the Magnetic Field (GSE or GSM)
By(nT) - By component of the Magnetic Field (GSE or GSM)
Bz(nT) - Bz component of the Magnetic Field (GSE or GSM)
Theta(degrees) - Elevation angle of magnetic field direction
Phi(degrees) - Azimuth of magnetic field direction
    V(km/s) - V magnitude of the Velocity
Vx(km/s) - Vx component of the Velocity
Vy(km/s) - Vy component of the Velocity
Vz(km/s) - Vz component of the Velocity
VTheta(degrees) - Elevation angle of solar wind bulk velocity
VPhi(degrees) - Azimuth of solar wind bulk velocity
    Np(cm^-3) - Proton number density
    Vth(km/s) - Proton thermal speed
Psw(nPa) - Solar wind ram pressure
    Pb(nPa) - Magnetic field pressure
Pth(nPa) - Solar wind thermal pressure
Beta - Solar wind proton beta
    Va(km/s) - Alfven velocity
    Ma - Alfven Mach number
    Mms - Magnetosonic Mach number
    Epsilon(10^11 W) - Akasofu Epsilon parameter
    Vbs - VBs parameter

    Select all parameters

Choose whether or not to remove spikes and overplot Pb and Pth (if applicable):

Overplot Pb and Pth?          Yes   No

Note: If you experience a blank blue screen after selecting "Generate ASCII" or "Generate Plot" this indicates
that data is not available for the start day you selected. If both MFI and SWE parameters are selected this
could mean either MFI or SWE data is not available or possibly both.
